Blog - Day 7 - THE LAST DAY

Our last night in chester turned out to be great fun with a fine meal and the traditional walk awards ceremony. I'll write those up seperately but suffice to say mark was our outright winner with 5 individual titles, top whinger of course being one of them.
 
Breakfast was a mixed affair with most unable to face food - alas i also missed my final appearance on the radio but shaun k said i was both witty and charming. I wonder where this budding celebratory status will take me next? :-)
 
after a quick stop for lucosade drinks we were on our way. It was nice to see the welcome party at hooton and shaun h was a bit overcome when reunited with daisy the talking dog.

On to park gate where the remaining walkers joined in.
The final few miles were great with much banter - we held back and crossed the line together to hearty applause and a hug from the claire bear. Flash had to be reprimanded for excess celebrations with the bear.

A good evening ensued with plenty of banter and walk reviewing. Special thanks to chris the black horse landlord and fletch from 107 for his 'wet and wild' chilli!
 
the raffle was a great success with nearly 2000 tickets sold. totting all that up is a job for monday. Only low point was my daughter laura winning an everton shirt and then refusing to let me swap it for another prize - apparently her 'boyfriend' is a blue so she wants to impress him...
 
We've had an amazing week and raised a great amount for claire house. We've made some new friends and cemented some existing ones. I'm sure We'll ride again but maybe something a little less painful in 2010! :-)
