Was a good afternoon which merged into the evening at the final
pub - yet again the locals did us proud with a whip round for the
charity.
what a night though - shaun h is feeling the burn and regailed us
with his karate stories which have resulted in 23 broken bones! Even
more impressive is his dom jolly impression - the man shouting into
the big phone - we all know far more than we need about shaun's
business operations now !
Flash has just been for a completely unncessary shower which has
left everyone questioning his already shaky masculinity.
Tomorrow is looking somewhere between agony and hospitalisation but
we crack on.
Today was an 8 out of 10
nigel
Started with 6 more relentlessly flat, boring, cycle path miles - everyone with heads down, and grinding the miles out. After turning inland, Nige was given charge of the map (whilst Shaun K visited the bushes)...a big mistake! Within 30 seconds the group was off course.
Back on track, we found ourselves in the middle of a horse field - one of the horses took a shine to Nige - top prancing!...the horse was pretty athletic as well!
Lunch in Dyserth and then uphill, uphill and uphill! Moral boosted by 2 milestones...passed the halfway point today and left the North Wales Path to start Offa's Dyke. We discovered a new source of pain today - downhill! This afternoons small comedy event - Nige and me having a Laurel and Hardy moment trying to avoid some traffic!

Another 18 miles means we now rest at the end of day 4 at 69
miles. We took the prestatyn ringroad and now find ourselves in the
smithy arms in rhuallt.
Its good to be back in the hills after our coast walking - no
offense north wales but your coast is extremely dull to walk along.
We walked past about 3 miles of caravan's in the golden sands
caravan park - the only golden sands i saw were in the fire bucket
by the toilets . maybe trading standards are a bit more relaxed west
of chester !
As a point of order i should explain what happened with 'that
horse'. Its true the horse ran at me but i simply slipped and
lurched forward about 10 paces. It may have looked like a sprint for
the hills but it was involuntary. Case closed.
More later perhaps.

After his revelation that he had always wanted to ride a horse bare back, Steven tempts a suitable partner
We spent the evening watching the football and comparing
injuries. We now have a clear leader in mark who's feet are looking
bad. thankfully today is mainly flat so that should help everyone.
Yesterday's revelation that my green line was actually just a big
green cycle path will be tested today as we head inland. Such little
faith from the troops about my meticulous planning!
Hopefully We'll get some fun today to rival shaun h's talking dog
and mark's schoolboy error of having his sunglasses on all day in
the sun - he did look quite amusing with his big panda eyes though!
shaun k is today's guest Blogger - he's promised us he won't abuse
the privilige by documenting his 5 best outdoor poo's and 10 things
you never knew about fish list. I'm not overly confident though ...
Nigel
"If Carlsberg made guest houses...." after a hearty Indian, a couple of pints and another pleasing football result, we had a proper early night (all without setting foot out of our digs).
Embarking on any lengthy outdoor activity after a curry may seem brave or even foolhardy...we'll see!
Coastal path this morning.
